Joe Brown (guitar and vocals)
One of the original members of the group, Downtown Joe Brown is one of the busiest guitar players in the Quad Cities, and for good reason. With killer chops and tasty tone, Joe is in demand to work with other groups like The Blackstones and Modern Mythology. We, of course, like him best stage right with the SCO! By day Joe is co-owner of MediaWork Productions, but don't get too excited, because they don't make those kinds of videos.
Bill Lilliman (drums and vocals)
Also an original member of the group, Billy Swingtime (as we like to call him) has been banging the drums for more years than Ron has been alive. When not with the SCO, Bill has been seen on the stage in musicals at Circa '21, working on home renovations for Moon's Construction, and in drag. Bill aslo drags his sound equipment around to mix sound for other bands and events, so e-mail him if you are interested in his services.
Rusty Ruggles (saxophone and vocals)
Inexplicably (other than the alliteration) also know as Rufus, Rusty can be seen on the sax and sometimes jumps behind the keys to sing a couple at SCO shows. As the second most famous musician to come out of Aledo, Illinois, audiences have come to appreciate Rusty's quick wit and beastly skills on the horn, though it took them a while. Weekdays find Rusty as the beloved Aledo, Illinois band director and facilitator of the Aledo bandshell.
Brian Skow (keyboards and vocals)
Mild-mannered English teacher by day, and smart-mouthed musician by night, Brian is also an original member of the band. On the few occasions he has a break from promoting world peace and dedicating himself to humanitarian missions (well, at least he tries to tip well on vacations), Brian operates a small recording studio and writes the witty commentary that shows up here and on our Facebook page.
Todd Slothower (trombone and vocals)
Todd is an accomplished trombonist in both classical and pop circles. He has appeared with more groups than we can possibly list here, and some of them have even invited him back! When necessary, Todd can jump from the trombone slot to the bass position in no time flat, and unfortunately can also play the cowbell. Todd's students in Moline's Wilson Middle School band program often yell "More cowbell!" during long rests in their music.
Ron Wilson (bass and vocals)
Ron provides the big bottom for the band with four strings of love. Whether rockin' with the SCO or playing his huge wooden acoustic instrument, Ron's groove, tastiness, and undeniable sex appeal make him the most sought after bassist in the Quad Cities. It won't take long before you'll be screaming, "RONNNNNIEEEEEE!!!!!" When not pulling his own parts, Ron will be glad to help you with your auto part needs at U-Pull-A-Part.
